ASHEVILLE — In honor of International Women's Day March 8 there will be a celebration with a Women's March from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in downtown Asheville.
Participants should meet at 10:30 a.m. at Pack Square Park to pick up a sign or to make one. The International Women's Day-Unite and Resist demonstration will begin at 11 a.m. There will be information tables and speakers throughout the event.
According to a news release from the march's organizers, women will gather to "honor the relentless pursuit of justice and equality by women throughout history and protest Donald Trump's attempt to remove the contributions of women."
